Essential Skills in the World of Agentic Coding

Image
A recent lunch with my good friend Prashanth sparked a realization about the rapidly shifting landscape of software engineering. Amidst catching up, he pointed out a looming industry paradox, as AI accelerates our coding speed, the role of Quality Assurance (QA) becomes exponentially more critical, not less. I couldn't agree more. Historically, an average developer might write 500 to 2,000 lines of production-grade code in a month. Today, with AI coding agents developer generate that same volume in a single hour. However, verifying the integrity, security, and true intent of this machine-generated code is the new industry bottleneck. Traditional code reviews can only catch so much. While robust unit, integration, and UI tests are foundational, if LLMs are authoring the core logic and human oversight is lax, an entire system architecture can quickly go sideways. The harsh truth is that every great developer today must first become a great QA engineer. It is no longer just about writ...

They came, they saw, they shot and what do we do now???

Well they came by sea and this has been confirmed by Govt. of India. They killed 100s and I strongly believe that the number given by Govt of Indiais highly deflated one. Great bloggers like Nitin Pai and GreatBong have written at lengths about this carnage(I am sorry for those who call it tragedy). It was nothing more that cold blooded massacre of people in India. The suggestion and thoughts by both these bloggers have been bang on target. But then, this stupid Congress government is not expected to be able to achieve anything. So here are my suggestions(well when everyone has one, why should I not chip in) There are three ways to deal with the situation. 1. Pseudo-Gandhian way -- Take out rally and protest creating havoc for the people who are already suffering at the hands of the government. The candle lights protest as well as going at lengths of giving memorandum to the political brasses all fall in this category. I hail from the city known of late more for protests than a...

The Unscientific Analysis of Languages popular with Indian Startups

Well all this started with this one tweet disruptive, IIM, ninja, passion. leverage, LSD, enterprise. this takes buzzwords to whole next level and more https://t.co/BTKniycDxa — Sathya (@SathyaBhat) March 9, 2015 And finally ended with this one @jackerhack thanks, got it @SathyaBhat @mehulved — 100rabh™ (@the100rabh) March 9, 2015 And I had the entire dump of Hasjobs postings. It was pretty cool of Kiran to send them across to me and saving me the time and effort to scrape that data. At that time I had very little idea what I would do with it. I am aware of R and this was the moment when I thought I could make use of the little knowledge of it I had. So I got on with it. Step 1: Step R on my system. Step 2: Write some code to extract the data and cleanse it Step 3: Generate the counts for words Step 4: Manually pick up the technology words with counts Step 5: Generate the image with language popularity So as it stands the top 5 of required technolog...
