Well IPL is being moved out of India for all the reasons in the world. Now IPL stands for Indian Premier League. But who lifted the cup last time around ? Well it was Shane Warne . Interesting isn’t it. An Australian lifting the Indian Premier Legaue. Well if u consider that there are a large number of Indians in Australia, well its not all that bad to think. Anyways from now on I would refer the event as IPL. I now seriously believe that IPL is a direct challenge to ICC. How? well, ICC can only organize the World Cup every three or four years. But BCCI would do this every year. The best part is that ICC cant do a thing about it. Since last year IPL was held in India, this year it is being moved to South Africa. And its not without a great deal of pitching by South Africa. So if you look at it, BCCI has clearly sidelined ICC by moving IPL to another country. Well IPL is finally there. It has all the common ingredients required for a bollywood blockbuster. It has the best of bollywood stars Shahrukh Khan and the lovely Priety Zinta. There are a lot of financial muscle behind it too. You have best of the class cricketers who were auctioned off just like some antique. Some getting a price beyond expectations and some just getting selected. The current controversy in Australia has anything to go by then we can expect fireworks in IPL. Just like WWF you have two men engaged in a personal fight initially and then getting onto the ring. I dont expect anything else out of IPL. I think these guys should do some more preparation to make a Rocky kind of atmosphere. The underdog will go down in the first round and then spring back to end the game in a win. A win in Australia could not be better timed. It was indeed a terrific win, but not without controversial umpiring decisions which went the India way. When I heard Pakistani Skipper Shohaib Mallik tell in the presentation ceremony that he was thankful to all the muslims around the world who had supported him I really felt surprised. It actually happened that most of the muslims in India were supporting the home team. So keeping in mind the majority, Allaha decided that India should win.
